WEEKLY TRAINING SESSIONS
Below are the details of the weekly sessions that take place at Cleves School, St George's College in Weybridge and Cedars Park in Sunbury during spring 2025. If your child is interested in attending they are very welcome to come along for a free trial - simply follow the links below in each section.
Monday - Speed and Agility Academy
Our Years 3 - 6 Speed and Agility sessions take place
every Monday from 3.30pm to 4.00pm in the sportshall at Cleves School, Weybridge.
Led by British Athletics qualified coaches, the training is suitable for
all skill levels. These sessions are designed to develop athletic performance by improving coordination, balance, and quickness.
Sessions will include a variety of drills and games that enhance athlete's ability to move swiftly and efficiently. Not only beneficial for athletics but these skills are fundamental for excelling in a wide range of sports like football, rugby basketball, hockey and tennis. Our sessions promote physical fitness, teamwork, and confidence, helping children become more agile and developing speed.
The sessions are aimed at those who are serious and committed about their sport and show a desire to improve and develop their ability. They will be expected to work hard, listen and respond to feedback and participate fully in what will be a fun, engaging and supportive environment.

Monday - Sportshall Athletics
Our Years 4 - 10 Sportshall Athletics training sessions take place
every Monday from 4.00pm to 4.45pm (Years 4-7) and 4.45pm to 5.30pm (Years 6-10) in the sportshall at Cleves School. These sessions provide an opportunity for young athletes to try out and train in various athletic events, including running, jumping and throwing.
Led by British Athletics qualified coaches, the training is suitable for
all skill levels, from beginners to athletes who wish to compete in the
annual Surrey competitions. The sessions involve activities that aim to
develop agility, speed, strength and coordination.
The sessions not only improve athletic abilities but, like all our sessions,
are held in a fun and supportive environment where everyone is
valued and each athlete gains confidence in their own ability.
In the winter months there is the opportunity to compete in the Surrey
Sportshall Athletics league which takes place over three Sundays in
October, November and January. From February half term, there is a
shift of focus to these sessions in order to prepare for the summer
track season.

Monday - Strength & Conditioning
Our Year 4 to Year 8 Circuit Training sessions are held every Monday from 5.45pm to 6.30pm in the sportshall at Cleves School.
Designed to cater to all fitness levels and abilities, our circuit training type sessions offer a dynamic and engaging workout that combines strength exercises, cardio activities, and flexibility/coordination drills. The format ensures that participants move through a series of stations, each targeting different muscle groups and skills with opportunities to make each activity easier or more challenging based on the ability of the athlete. Each session is different to keep athletes motivated and engaged.
Led by British Athletics qualified coaches who ensure all athletes take part safely, are appropriately challenged based on their ability and enjoy the session.
The circuit training approach is perfect for young athletes seeking to improve their performance in sports, as well as for those who want to boost overall physical fitness.

Tuesday - Junior Running Club
Our Junior Running Club take place every Tuesday evening from 4.30pm - 5.15pm at Cleves School, Weybridge and is open to athletes in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6. These sessions have a range of focuses including cross country, speed endurance and overall running fitness.
Led by British Athletics qualified coaches, the training is suitable for all skill levels, from beginners to athletes who want to improve their performance. The focus is on developing proper techniques and building a strong foundation for athletic performance.
Sessions are carefully structured to ensure an inclusive and fun environment for all.
In the winter months, there are opportunities for athletes to take part in a number of cross country competitions which the club enter. These are a perfect opportunity for your child to take part in competitions for the first time and are always supported by coaches who ensure a positive experience and nurturing environment.

Wednesday - Senior Running Club
Looking to improve your running technique and overall fitness? Our Running Fitness sessions take place every Wednesday from 4.30pm to 5.15pm on the field at Cleves School and is open to athletes in Years 6 - 10
These sessions cater for all, whether you want to compete in local
organised cross country races, enhance your fitness for other sports, or
simply enjoy the social benefits of group training while staying fit.
Led by British Athletics qualified coaches, our sessions are designed to
accommodate all fitness levels and abilities. Whether you're a
competitive runner or just starting up, you'll find a supportive and
encouraging environment in order to make progress.
During each session, athletes will engage in a mix of running drills,
interval training, and endurance exercises to improve speed, stamina,
and overall cardiovascular fitness. The focus is on developing proper
running techniques and building a strong foundation for athletic
performance. In the winter months there is the opportunity to compete in local cross country leagues.

Wednesday - Track Sessions
Attention all athletes in Years 3-10. Our autumn and winter junior and senior track sessions take place on a Wednesday evening at 6.45 - 7.30pm (junior) and 7.30 - 8.15pm (senior) under the floodlights on the running track at St George's College and is open to athletes in school years 3 to 10 (ages 8 to 15).
Utilising the fantastic facilities at St Georges College, these sessions focus on sprinting and middle distance running with some focus on hurdling. Athletes are free to choose the session they would like to take part in each week.
Led by British Athletics qualified coaches, the training is suitable for all skill levels, from beginners to athletes who want to improve their performance. The focus is on developing proper techniques and building a strong foundation for athletic performance.
Over the course of the summer months there is the opportunity to compete in a range of track events which are supported and advertised by the club.
